Is this solid wood? No. It is MDF with a wood décor finish in chocolate brown. That is deliberate: on a shape that curves this much, solid wood would run short-grain along the bends and eventually crack. MDF with décor keeps the flowing line crisp and stays dimensionally stable.
Can this piece stand outdoors? No, this is an indoor piece. The finish is not weather-resistant: moisture and direct sunlight attack the top layer. For outdoor use, E-woodproducts has a separate garden range.
